All about "Wagrain-Kleinarl"

Coming from Germany, you can reach Wagrain-Kleinarl via the A8 motorway (Munich - Salzburg) and the border crossing at Walserberg. Then follow the A10 motorway (Tauern motorway) in the direction of Villach. Here the nearest exit is number 66 "Flachau".

If you are coming from the eastern part of Austria (Vienna/Linz), then follow the A1 motorway (Westautobahn) in the direction of Salzburg and then follow the A10 motorway (Tauernautobahn) again to exit 66 "Flachau".

Coming from the south (Klagenfurt/Villach), also follow the A10 motorway (Tauern motorway) in the direction of Salzburg until exit 66 "Flachau". Here you will pass a toll booth of the Tauern Tunnel on the motorway (€ 12.50).

From exit 66 "Flachau" follow the Wagrainer Straße (B163) for approx. 10 km to Wagrain-Kleinarl. It's easy to find your accommodation and nothing stands in the way of your dream holiday.

You can call up all the information on the current road conditions throughout Austria from the ÖAMTC online at any time.

You can also reach Wagrain-Kleinarl comfortably by train and bus. The destination stations are St. Johann im Pongau or Radstadt. From there, the bus will take you to your holiday destination.

Wagrain:
In Wagrain there is a public car park behind the municipal building. You will find the two access points along Wagrainerstraße at the height of Trafik Wagrain and Sport Obermoser. There is a charge for the car park in winter! Please note that this is a daytime car park, you are not allowed to park here at night. Tip: There are also e-charging stations for your car here.

There is also a car park at Kirchboden near the Wasserwelt Wagrain. Follow the road to Kirchboden and turn right at the first crossroads at the small Spar market. The car park is then on the left-hand side.

When using the cable cars, there are also 3 parking spaces available at the valley stations.

Kleinarl:
In Kleinarl you will find a car park directly at the entrance to the village, a few metres after the town sign, on the right-hand side. Here you will also find direct access to the cross-country skiing network.

You will also find a public car park in the centre of the village next to and above Café Olympia. Tip: There are also electric charging stations for your car here.

There is also a car park at the end of the valley directly at Jägersee. In summer you can also take the toll road (€ 6.00) to the Schwabalm. There you will find a car park as a starting point for the hike to the Tappenkarsee Lake.

When using the cable cars, parking spaces are also available at the valley stations.

For your car
In Wagrain you will find e-charging stations directly at the municipal car park.

In Kleinarl you will find e-charging stations directly in the village centre next to the Café Olympia.

If you booked directly with your accommodation owner, please contact them again by email or phone and ask them to cancel the booking or change the travel dates.

If you booked with Booking.com, you can edit and cancel your booking or change the travel dates directly on their website or in the app. This also works the same way for all other platforms.

Important addresses

There is a pharmacy in our region, the Waldapotheke. It is located directly on the Wagrainerstrasse in the direction of Flachau on the right side of the road. From the centre, you can reach the pharmacy in a few minutes on foot. There are also parking facilities directly in front of the pharmacy.

In Wagrain-Kleinarl there are 2 general medical practices and one dental practice.

Dr. Rohrmoser
The Wagrain practice of Dr. Peter Rohrmoser is located on Kirchboden directly at the car park of Wasserwelt Wagrain. To get there, follow Kirchbodenstraße to the first crossroads and turn right at the Spar Markt. The car park is on the left-hand side. You have to cross the car park once, then you are directly in front of the practice. There entrance is accesible with wheelchairs.

Dr. Peter Rohrmoser's practice in Kleinarl is in the centre of the village, in the building of the Raiffeisenbank. The practice is located in the right half of the building. Parking is available directly in front of the practice, in front of the municipal building and behind Café Olympia. From here the entrance has wheelchair access.

Dr. Fercher
Dr. Hannes Fercher's practice in Wagrain is right in the centre of town, on the market square. The practice is located in the municipal building and has its own barrier-free entrance on the right-hand side.

The Kleinarl practice of Dr. Hannes Fercher is located directly in the municipal building, on the 1st floor. There is a barrier-free entrance to the municipal office and a lift to the first floor. After getting off the lift, you will find the practice on the right-hand side.

Dr. Michalek
The practice of dentist Dr. Fritz Michalek is located directly at the municipal car park in Wagrain. The entrance is in the same building as the upholsterer "Josef Flasch", on the right side of the building, along the road to the car park.

Wagrain
In Wagrain, the post office is located in the centre, above Sport Obermoser. The entrance is on the upper side. You can put postcards or letters with stamps in the letterbox by the tobacconist.

Kleinarl
In Kleinarl you will find the post office inside the Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourist Office. You will find the letterbox on the left side of the municipal building and at the Hotel Botenwirt.

Advantage cards

Whilst on holiday in Wagrain-Kleinarl you get the Salzburger Sportwelt Card directly from the accommodation owner. The guest card is available in printed form or in digital form by e-mail or in our digital holiday companion PIA. With the guest card you get free admission to the Wasserwelt Wagrain DAILY.

You can buy the SalzburgerLand Card conveniently online. The cards are also available directly from the two Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourism offices.

Public transport in summer

In Wagrain-Kleinarl, the normal public bus becomes a Wanderbus with the Salzburger Sportwelt Card (guest card). You'll find the exact times here below.

The Wanderbus costs € 1.00 per journey and person with the Salzburger Sportwelt Card. Even if you have to change buses to get to your destination, the journey only costs € 1.00. However, you have to buy the ticket for the whole journey when you get on, otherwise you have to pay for each bus after changing.

In principle, you can take your bike with you on the Wanderbus. The prerequisite for this is sufficient capacity in the bus. Unfortunately, we cannot generally assure you of this, but it is usually possible without any problems.

Summer activities

Hiking equipment such as baby carrier backpacks, hiking poles, etc. can be rented from the following sports shops.

You can rent bike equipment from Bike-Welt, Sport Obermoser or Sport Rudi Huber in Wagrain. In addition, you can have your bike conveniently delivered to your accommodation door with "Call your Bike". If your bike needs servicing, our bike experts are happy to help.

Winter activities

You can rent your ski equipment from all sports shops in Wagrain-Kleinarl.

Various ski schools are available for all ages.

You can easily learn to cross-country ski with one of our top cross-country ski instructors.

Wasserwelt Wagrain

The Wasserwelt Wagrain is open in summer as well as in winter. With the Salzburger Sportwelt Card you get free entry to the Wasserwelt Wagrain every day. In winter, free admission is limited to 3 hours. Information on prices and opening hours of the Wasserwelt Wagrain can be found here.

Unfortunately, the sun doesn't always shine here in the mountains either. But a little rain doesn't stop us from going for a little hike, heavy snowfall is not bad weather anyway. If you still prefer to stay indoors on a day, here are a few suggestions:

Fishing opportunities are available in Wagrain in the Wagrainer Ache from the Musikheim to St. Johann. You can get the day fishing card at the Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourist Office.

In Kleinarl you can fish from Hotel Angerwirt to Hotel Botenwirt. The day fishing card is available at the Robinson Club.

You can also fish in the largest mountain lake in the Eastern Alps, the Tappenkarsee Lake. Here, the day fishing card is available at Gasthof Jägersee.

In Wagrain-Kleinarl you will be amazed above all by the vast, magnificent nature. With crystal-clear mountain lakes and the rock and grass mountains, the region boasts a unique natural backdrop that offers a wide range of activities for every skier, snowboarder, cross-country skier, ski tourer, hiker and biker.

What you also have to see are the people behind it all. The hospitality and friendly interaction with each other will make you feel at home at your holiday destination.

The tourist infrastructure, which includes the Wasserwelt Wagrain, hiking trails, cross-country skiing trails, bike paths, signposting, etc., is financed with the overnight tax/local tax.
Here in Wagrain-Kleinarl, the overnight tax/local tax is €2.30 per night per guest (from 15 years of age).
