The Corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) has put paid to normality. But the health and safety of all of us comes first. On this page we'd like to keep you updated about the current situation and about the measures in winter 2021/22 in Wagrain-Kleinarl.

All information about holidays in Austria during the Corona pandemic can be found at safe hospitality.

All information has been compiled with the greatest possible care, but all details on this page are without guarantee!

Please always observe the following rules:

Everything is open again. 2G proof is required almost everywhere. Excluded are persons who cannot be vaccinated without risk to their life or health and pregnant women. FFP2 masks mandatory in all enclosed spaces, the recommended minimum distance is 2 m.

For unvaccinated persons there is still a lockdown. They are only allowed to leave their houses and apartments for the following reasons:

2 G, 2G+, 2,5 G & 3 G

At the moment, different Gs apply in Austria. So that you do not lose the overview, we would like to present the Gs to you.

2 G: vaccinated or recovered
2 G+: vaccinated or recovered and additionally a PCR-test which is not older than 48 hours.
2,5 G: vaccinated, recovered or PCR-tested
3 G: vaccinated, recovered or a negative test (PCR test or official antigen test)

TESTED means:

  • PCR test in an authorised centre (validity: 72 hours).
  • Antigen test at an authorised centre (validity: 24 hours).
  • School test (Ninja-Pass)

VACCINATED means:

  • Only valid with a completed vaccination series!
  • Immunization by vaccination of convalescents: Provided there was a positive molecular biology test for SARS-CoV-2 at least 21 days prior to vaccination or there is already evidence of neutralizing antibodies at the time of vaccination, proof of vaccination is valid for 180 days from the time of initial vaccination with an EMA-approved vaccine against SARS-CoV-2.
  • As of 03.02.2022 the validity is reduced to 180 days (until then 270 days). After that, a booster vaccination is necessary.
  • From 03.01.2022 the vaccination certificate of a single Johnson&Johnson vaccination is only valid with booster vaccination.
  • All vaccines not licensed in Austria (e.g. Sputnik V) are not valid.
  • You can find all the information about this and a validity calculator for your vaccination here.

RECOVERED means:

  • Quarantine order
  • Medical confirmation of an infection that has occurred in the last 6 months and has currently expired
  • Detection via antibodies is currently no longer valid

The green passport is already in use in Austria. The use of this digital certificate is voluntary. It is created and verified with a QR code. Likewise, it is still possible to use a paper certificate in combination with a photo ID within Austria.

Rules for children

  • Covid proof required from the age of 12: vaccinated or recovered
  • A Corona Test Pass (Ninja Pass - issued at Austrian schools) replaces the 2G proof (vaccinated or recovered) for school-age children and adolescents from 12 years of age (up to the completed 9th grade), throughout the week - i.e. also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Prerequisite: The scheduled test intervals must be adhered to.
  • The Holiday Ninja Pass will be an exemption to 2G proof for unvaccinated or under-vaccinated young people of school age (from 12 to 15 years) from Austria and abroad. The testing interval must still be maintained for the first 5 days. For this period of the first 5 days, the validity of the individual tests must be taken into account, rapid antigen test: 48 hours, PCR tests: 72 hours. During these 5 days, valid test evidence must be continuously available in order to be accepted for the Holiday Ninja Pass. The 7-day period starts from the day of the first test, but a negative test result is required for actual entry as 2G proof. All info on the Holiday Ninja Pass.
  • For children who are not from Austria, the following applies: If they can consistently demonstrate negative tests (of which at least 2 are PCR tests) during a calendar week, then this replaces a 2G proof. Thus, there must not be a day without a negative test result.
  • Compulsory school attendance in this sense means: all children from the age of 12 (from the 12th birthday) who were born on or after 02.09.2006.

Persons who do not use the cable cars and lifts for occupational purposes or to cover necessary basic needs of daily life need a 2G certificate (vaccinated or recovered).

A FFP2 mask must be worn in enclosed or covered transportation methods and in enclosed areas of associated stations.

  • The verification of the 2G proof or the activation of the ticket has to be done separately before entering the respective ski resort.
  • It's best to use a second cell phone for this at the moment.
  • On your cell phone (not yours) open this link.
  • Your ticket number is on the back side of your ski ticket.
  • Scan your QR code of the necessary Covid certificate (vaccinated or recovered) and confirm it.
  • Upon your confirmation, a green square will appear showing you how long the Covid proof is valid.
  • Please have your 2G proof ready for possible checks.
  • The ski pass will be unlocked only for the period of validity of the 2G proof. After that, the ski pass must be linked again.
